Ann Brownlee

Ann E. Brownlee

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

A typical day could find Ann performing surgery and dental procedures, or dealing with a host of pet problems, from analyzing a brand-new puppy's diet to assessing chronic diseases in a beloved cat. She is a hopeless lover of creatures, and her family includes two labs (Hank and Daisy), Rooney the Jack Russell Terrier, Tittles the cat, two Rocky Mountain horses, Willie and Gunnar – and Murphy the mini-donkey, who makes her laugh with his patented heehaw. As clinic owner and veterinarian, Ann is proud to be connected to “such a dedicated staff, such an amazing clientele, and such spirited animals.”

Karen Christopherson

Karen Christopherson

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

A veterinarian since 1997, Karen describes herself as "someone who tries to find causes for and solutions to our patients’ medical and behavioral problems." Karen believes experiences with her own pets strengthen her practice, improving her empathy and giving her greater "animal sense." Of her crew of dogs, cats, and parrot, she has a special connection with Pip, "a cross between a hairy pit bull and a muppet, who acts like my shadow."

Heather Stadtherr

Heather Stadtherr

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

"My job involves meeting wiggly new puppies and kittens who are new to the world, and saying goodbye to old friends. In between I do my best to keep them happy and healthy and have great lives. It is a special thing to be able to care for a pet for its entire life, and I treasure that”.  Heather has pets herself, and she has the same concerns for them as her clients. Her family has five cats -- Eli, Ozzie, Dexter, Gulliver and Josie – plus one dog, Ziggy, a wiry-haired corgi mix whose job it is to herd the cats, and Heather's daughter Ella. “They all help make me a better doctor".

Nancy Balto

Nancy Balto

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Nancy was one of the founders of Grand Avenue Veterinary Center, and a guiding light for many years. Semi-retired now, she conducts house calls, and is fondly remembered by clients of long standing. “I watched the clinic develop over the years, and I am very proud of  what it has achieved. When my own dogs and cats need more care than I can provide, I know the very best place to take them!”
